A Rhône style blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache with the perfect amount of fruit and grip to entice the senses but light enough that you can sip on it all evening - an excellent pick to accompany a night in with friends. This is a slight change of pace for those who have tried Justin Van Wyk’s outstanding fuller bodied red blends he creates at Constantia Glen, however, no less brilliant. He’s taken a lower intervention approach with this blend, only using older French oak to retain the purity of the fruit while still smoothing out the tannic structure and providing natural oxidation in the maturation process. Just like the Olivia Grace, the Rebecca May is named after one of Justin’s daughters.
Nose & palate
This wine is crafted to express delicate red fruit flavours such as raspberry and boysenberry. The whole-bunch fermentation lends additional freshness, structure, and persistence to the palate. Once the wine opens up, the bouquet develops encouraging floral notes of pressed violets and lavender. The mouth-filling texture and medium-bodied palate provides good balance and drinkability.
Pairing
Like the Olivia Grace, this is a very food friendly wine so take your pick. Also great by itself, maybe some biltong/droëwors on the side!

Justin Van Wyk creates absolute masterpieces as the winemaker at Constantia Glen, so naturally when we found out about his own label that he started in 2016 we were more than a little excited.
Justin cast his gaze outside Constantia and scoured the Cape Winelands for special vineyards that fit his vision to create honest South African wines that display a restrained old-world charm. His winemaking approach is gentle and non-invasive, resulting in wines that are pure expressions of the Cape. These are small batch wines that somehow still manage to provide incredible value, exhibiting the passion and modest elegance of a brilliant winemaker.
