Miss Molly | Blanc de blancs | 2015 MCC
Miss Molly | Blanc de blancs | 2015 MCC
Miss Molly’s completely knocked this one out of the park and we’re kicking ourselves we didn’t order more. A 2015 vintage Méthode Cap Classique of 100% Chardonnay from the Môreson farm in Franschhoek, it’s matured for 5 years on lees, so definitely a Molly for a special occasion. The Blanc de Blancs recently went up against the best MCC’s in the country in the 2021 Prescient Cap Classique Report, and this underdog (pun not intended), came out on top!
Nose & Palate
Like all of the Miss Molly MCC’s, fruit is front and centre. Hints of citrus, apple and peach on the nose. A generous weight on the palate from the time this wine has spent on the lees and a remarkably dry finish.
Pairing
Smoked salmon on dill pikelets - a perfect canapé to start the evening with the Blanc de Blancs!

About the Winery
Môreson is a boutique wine farm sitting in the stunning valley of Franschhoek. We discovered Môreson when we were floored (figuratively) tasting their Mercator Chardonnay in South Africa. In fact it’s this wine that helped secure their winemaker, Clayton Reabow, the Diners Club Winemaker of the Year award in 2018. Since then we’ve realised that Clayton works absolute wonders with this incredibly versatile grape. Oaked, unoaked, sparkling MCC, dessert wine - you name it, they do it with Chardonnay, and we can't get enough of it.
The Miss Molly label is named after one of the winemaker’s loyal dogs - a mischievous Weimaraner called Molly! The Miss Molly Bubbly has developed such a massive following over the years they now have to source more Chardonnay grapes from Robertson to supplement those grown in Franschhoek.
