L'Avenir | Single Block | Chenin Blanc | 2020
It’s a special evening (or morning, we’re not here to judge) and you’re after a white with a little more elegance? This old vine, single vineyard Chenin is the masterpiece you’re after. L’Avenir’s Block 30 Chenin Blanc vineyard has some of the oldest Chenin vines in South Africa, planted back in 1971. The block has stood the test of time and consistently produces wines of exceptional quality and character. The winemaker, Dirk Coetzee, employs minimum intervention in the winemaking process to create a wine that epitomises authentic South African Chenin Blanc.
Nose & Palate
A mesmerising nose of blossoms, ripe pears, sweet oranges and a delicate hint of almond. A generous wine that lingers on the palate with well-balanced acidity and subtle oak nuances. With rich fruit flavours and a whisper of honey, the wine is intricate and delicate. Well balanced, with impressive texture, depth and concentration.
Pairing
A fine choice for decadent seafood, such as abalone, steamed cod or pan-seared scallops.
