Le Bonheur | Petit Verdot Reserve | 2020
Le Bonheur | Petit Verdot Reserve | 2020
While Petit Verdot often finds itself as a minor player in a Bordeaux-style blend, we can’t get over it’s potential as a single varietal when done well! A signature of Le Bonheur winemaker William Wilkinson, the Petit Verdot Reserve exhibits an intense, inky colour. While this remarkable wine will benefit from cellaring of up to 20 years, it’s hard not to drink it now!
Nose & palate
Fragrant notes of violets, black berries and dried spices.
Pairing
This wine will sing when paired with grilled lamb chops or pork chops.
About Le Bonheur
Led by winemaker William Wilkinson, Le Bonheur expresses the deep heritage of South African winemaking from four main soil types across a variety of aspects and slopes of Klapmuts Hill, with some of the oldest Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon plantings in Stellenbosch.
Named by its French Huguenot owners in the 1700s, Le Bonheur translates to “happiniess,” and we think you’ll feel the same when drinking these authentic, full bodied, and classically-style wines.
